Community Outreach & Involvement

Scottrade associates at the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk

Scottrade associates collected more than 24,000 canned goods in just four weeks in a competition against other St. Louis-based financial services firms and built some very creative “sculptures.” The company and its associates actively participate in the community through charitable efforts. We are proud of our philanthropy, because it is a testament to our associates’ generosity and devotion to the community.

Corporate Involvement

Rebuilding Together Day 2010

Scottrade’s community outreach and involvement program focuses on the firm’s belief in doing the right thing. When associates show a special interest in a charitable organization, Scottrade supports them by matching monetary donations and contributing $20 for every hour they volunteer their time.

Since Scottrade associates live and work throughout the United States, the firm is able to impact a variety of organizations. Some of the organizations Scottrade supports annually include:

Alzheimer’s Association

The leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research.

American Red Cross

A U.S. humanitarian organization providing emergency assistance, disaster relief and education.

Humane Society of the United States

Associate Involvement

Rebuilding Together Day 2010

At Scottrade, assistance is enthusiastically provided to organizations in the areas where associates and customers live and work. Our philosophy is to support organizations our associates support so that we can enable them to serve their communities better and be connected to the organizations important to them.

Through the firm’s Charitable Giving program, Scottrade matches associate contributions to the organizations they choose to support. The firm also donates $20 for every hour an assocate volunteers his or her time to a Day of Caring at a charity.

Jean Cole, Operations Liaison/Business Analyst for Scottrade Advisor Services, participated in Scottrade’s Day of Caring program by volunteering at the Wildlife Rescue Center.

“I had wanted to start volunteering for a while, but never ‘got around to it.’ Scottrade’s program gave me the motivation to finally do it and I’m so happy I did! I spent the day in one of the squirrel rooms and learned more about the process of taking in the wildlife to rehabilitate them to get them back to their natural habitat. It was a whirlwind 10-hour day and I had a blast!”

Andrew Worth, a Scottrade Branch Manager in Olympia, Wash., donated to various charities in his area and was able to have Scottrade match his donations.

“Giving back to the local community is something in which I strongly believe. Scottrade’s charitable giving program allows my wife and I to do more and more each year. I am involved with a local program through my daughter’s elementary school PTA called ‘The Giving Tree,’ which provides food and gifts to families during the holiday season. Last year with the help of other branches in the Pacific Northwest, we were able to help 20 more families than we could the previous year. If not for Scottrade’s matching program, the Cash for Champions, and the time donated by my peers at Scottrade, those extra 20 families would have had to go without the last holiday season.”

Alexis Boudreau, an Online Community Specialist at Scottrade, dedicated one of her workdays to helping out at the Saint Louis Food Bank.

“I spent the day tearing empty boxes apart as a part of an assembly line. Even though this doesn’t sound exciting, I knew I was helping fellow neighbors … and that’s important to me. I’m so grateful Scottrade gave me this opportunity to give back. I plan to take advantage of this much more often.”
